It’s a bad cycle that they’re in. They cancel all the shows that people want to watch people then unsubscribe then when they start losing subscribers, they start raising the price which then drives more people away which then causes them to cancel more shows.

The same can be said with every one of the streaming platforms. A perfect example is when Paramount+ canceled The Pink Ladies. They promoted it like crazy everywhere and then a few weeks after the last episode aired they canceled the show and scrubbed it from the streaming platform as if it never even existed.

The problem with the major streaming services is, they gave away too much, releasing their entire catalogue at once and producing too many new and expensive movies and tv shows in too short a time. As a result they were not profitable and their customer base got burned out by oversaturatization.

Customers are at the mercy of executives and shareholders that sometimes don’t even use the products they oversee and thus aren’t directly affected by said decisions as a user.

A perfect example would be an internet provider and its executives and shareholders don’t live in a market serviced by it.

There’s a practice called “dogfooding” that should be a requirement for these executives and shareholders.

So instead they alienate and tick off the customer base (you know, the people that give them money) by canceling shows that they actually like. I mean, it’s not like they ever release any ratings or metric data to back up their actions.

I hadn’t gone to a movie theater at all from like 2017 to 2021 but saw like five movies in theaters in 2022. I saw Top Gun Maverick, Puss in Boots the Last Wish, Superpets, The Twenty One Pilots Experience, and the Mario movie in theaters. I was especially glad to see Puss in Boots in theaters because holy cow it was so good. Honestly maybe the best animation I’ve ever seen in a movie.

It’s not a get rich quick scheme but one way I make money is from something called Nielsen. It basically gives you between $25 and $75 a month for doing nothing. Plus $10 just for signing up.

Wow! I'm trying to think of any original animated content before 1991, and I can't, because the didn't. By the way, "Rugrats"came out in 1991, so I don't get why it's near the end of the timeline.

In a personal note, back in the 1980's, Nickelodeon would interrupt whatever was on, to show whatever animated short skin the Oscar that year. They did so with no announcement or explanation. It wasn't until two decades later, while watching a DVD of either Oscar winning shorts, it Canadian shorts, did I realize what was going on back then.

Ah! Those one-season wonders (the biggest exceptions to this rule being "He-Man and She-Ra) that made more animated versions of television shows than any other studio!

For example, there was: "Star Trek" (later including the sub title "The Animated Series)," "Gilligan's Planet,," and the animated sequel to Filmation's own live action show: "The Ghost Busters" (1975), nearly a decade before the hit movie.

Thus, their ghost-busting show wasn't done cheap knock-off. It was a "Hey! We did it first!!" cheap knock off!
